What is Sahaja Meditation?
What does the word "Sahaja" mean?
Sahaja means "born with" or "innate." So, the name Sahaja Meditation reflects the fact that we are all born with this innate energy inside us, and that this energy is central to this entire meditation.
The short answer is that it is an inner energy based meditation technique. Each of us has our inner energy placed inside us at the base of the spine - we were all born with it. The first time that you attend a program or class, your inner energy is awakened using Sahaja Meditation techniques. You may or may not be able to feel the experience of this energy yourself the first time, but over time, you will begin to feel it on your hands and at the top of the head.
Why awaken this energy at all? It is powerful and awakening it can give you several benefits including all the benefits of stress relief and inner peace. In addition you improve your ability to detect problems of various types inside you - physical, mental and emotional and correct these over time using meditative techniques that focus on this inner energy.
Last and most important, this energy is spiritual in nature, so by awakening it, you begin your journey of spirituality and as you meditate more and more, you manage to uncover the depths of spirituality - what it is, why you need it and how it can benefit you and the world.
