How hard is it to experience enlightenment? What's the typical journey that someone new to Sahaja Meditation experiences? For example, what can they expect from the first experience?
Enlightenment is easier for some than others. Sure, one can get it relatively quickly and easily through Sahaja Meditation, but the thing to understand is that the experience of Enlightenment can happen on day one in Sahaja Meditation.
Thousands of years ago, saints used to meditate for years and undergo rigorous mental and emotional discipline in order to receive enlightenment — that was their end goal. In modern times, the process has been sort of reversed, at least in Sahaja Meditation it has. You receive your enlightenment on day one but then have to work towards qualifying yourself for it. What this means is that what one makes of their enlightenment or energy awakening is most important.
If the practitioner thinks that the day one enlightenment is all that matters, then he or she will miss what Sahaja Meditation is all about. The energy centers need to be worked on and improved continuously to reap all the benefits. So, the answer to your question about how easy it is to experience enlightenment is that it is very easy. It's what one subsequently makes of it that's more important.
The typical journey begins as the feeling of peace within at the time of energy awakening. Then after a few weeks of the practice of meditation using specific techniques, one can expect to actually start feeling the energy on the hands and the top of the head — this is exactly what you feel.
As you're working on the experiential aspect, you begin to gain more knowledge incrementally on, for example, the energy centers — where they reside, how to nurture them and so on. You have to apply the concepts and actualize them in order to start seeing gradual, incremental benefits.
Of course, there are those lucky ones who feel the energy on day one, as well as a blast of vibrations, and they continue to feel that way for the rest of their lives. I am not one of those lucky ones. As I mentioned, it took me 9 months to feel that energy, although I did feel peaceful and relaxed and find my attitude changing from day one.
Once I actually started feeling the vibrations and the energy, knowledge and understanding came much faster because I was able to correlate the experience with my knowledge and learn faster. It was like I had direct verifiable proof of what I was learning, so it was easy to figure things out. After that, it took only 3 more months — or a year since inception — to reach a reasonable state of maturity that would allow me to awaken the energy of others who desired it.
Then, over the years, my personality underwent gradual changes. I gained more and more control over my emotions, reactions and so on. I was then able to explore the depths and truths of spirituality. Even today, I continue to introspect and weed out those immaturities, problems and conflicts inside myself. It is a continuous journey. And there is always room for improvement.
What is the fastest route to enlightenment and energy awakening? Are there any shortcuts?
Although it is possible for the energy awakening to be quick and instantaneous, the true realization and actualization of benefits takes time, hard work, maturity and self-introspection. So no, there are no real shortcuts. As with achieving success in any aspect of life, it takes hard work and commitment to get there. And sure, Sahaja Meditation helps by providing a quick and powerful capsule of spiritual fitness on Day One and continuously throughout this journey, but you will only be successful through perseverance, commitment and hard work.
Something else, it takes work to maintain the state of meditation and energy centers on an ongoing basis. Enlightenment is not a flash-in-the-pan. It's not something you do once and forget about.
