How do you explain the experience of energy awakening? Why is it possible?
The entire universe is driven by a vital, all-powerful force, which you can think of as the cosmic force or energy, or what you might call the force of nature. We call it the all-pervading power.
When a baby is in the mother’s womb, the all-pervading power enters the baby's brain. The human brain evolves into the shape of a prism with three sides and a base. When the energy enters, it passes through all the surfaces of the brain, including the medulla oblongata (a lower brain structure that's continuous with the spinal cord and controls functions such as respiration and circulation), forming subtle energy channels and our nervous systems at the gross level — beginning with the central nervous system and cascading down to the autonomic nervous system, including the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems on both sides of the body. The residual energy from these processes settles into the triangular-shaped sacrum bone at the base of the spine — this is what we call the inner energy, which is present in every individual. This inner energy is therefore a reflection or a component of the ultimate cosmic energy that you can think of as the source. As a child is born and begins to grow, this energy loses its connection with its source and becomes dormant.
The energy awakening process inherent to systems such as Sahaja Meditation awaken this dormant energy and connect it back to its source. Once this happens, it's like getting plugged in to the main. The individual "lights up," becomes energized, and experiences multiple tangible benefits in day-to-day life. There’s also a physical aspect associated with experiencing this energy flow — you feel it as a throbbing or pulsating sensation in the fingers (the fingertips represent the nerve endings of the energy centers) or at the location of the energy centers themselves throughout the body.
I doubt that you'd find information on the energy awakening process in any scientific journal, textbook or research paper. I’d say that science is still lagging behind. But scientists make new discoveries every day and I believe that, one day, "scientific" proof of this energy's existence and acknowledgement of its benefits will be widely accepted and published. Until that happens, it's up to the practitioner to learn the concepts, work hard and independently verify the technique's results.
However, I'd also point out that acknowledgement and publishing are only necessary if one is concerned about popularity and widespread renown, or has a commercial angle. I don't know that there have been any serious attempts to try to "scientifically prove" the existence of the subtle energy system, probably because there's no money to be made on Sahaja. They're not a pharmaceutical company who wants to drive disease research because there's lots of money to be made selling treatment. It's not like they build meditation centers on every street corner like McDonald's — they don't even charge for their meditation classes.
